Dendrobium leonis (Lindl.) Rchb.f.

Description:  Found in Thailand, penninsular Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Sumatra and Borneo in lowland forests at elevations of sea level to 1100 meters as a miniature to small sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte or occasional lithophyte on limestone cliffs with clustered, leafy, flattened stems that are completely enveloped by the many, distichous, succulent, alternating, triangular, overlapping, dark, imbricating, dull green leaves that blooms in the spring, summer and fall on an axillary, short, single flowered inflorescence arising at the apex of the imbricating canes with 1 to 2 fleshy, fragrant [vanilla] flowers.
