Staurochilus fasciatus [Rchb.f] Ridley 1896 (previously Trichoglottis fasciata)

Description:  A large monopodial epiphyte found in the Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam,  Malaysia, Sumatra, in evergreen, semi-deciduous and deciduous dry lowland forests and savana-like woodlands at 0-800m.

• Size:  With an elongate stem carrying many oblong-ligulate, unequally rounded apically leaves that blooms in the spring and summer on a horizontal or ascending, 5" [12 cm] long, simple, slightly fractiflex inflorescence with small, triangular-ovate, subacute floral bracts carrying 2 to 8, long-lived, slightly (to not at all) fragrant flowers that open in succession.
